Chubby`s Tacos in Durham

Tasty, different options/combos. Good value.

Food is good, but I've never had the same order filled the same way twice. One tiny bag of chips, or two huge ones? Taco actually filled up, or two shreds of slaw on a fish crumb? Will we get the hard shell taco we ordered, or a soft shell? Entirely different order, or something in the ballpark of what we asked for? Believe me, I understand that working in food service sucks. I don't care if things aren't perfect. I just wish I knew what to expect.

Although they moved to this larger location a year or two ago, the menu is much the same: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc. It's not one of those menus with 100 different combo platters -- they keep it nice and simple. And quick! Food arrives very quickly after ordering, even during busy lunch times.I often get the enchiladas or the taco salad. The chicken and beef is well seasoned and tasty and the lettuce and tomatoes are good quality. But the real star is the salsa bar! They have an array of freshly-made salsas, so there's something for everyone.I have lunch here every few weeks, and the service and quality is consistent. I'm happy to have this in my neighborhood.

Very good! Good service, fast delivery, and guacamole was fresh and 10 times better than chipotles at half the cost only $1.49 !! 😂

I love Chubby's! The tacos are delicious and cheap. They have excellent beers on tap as well. My favourite taco flavours are the spicy chicken tinga and chorizo. Their hot salsa is just mouth watering. I'll back here to have more tacos and to have a torta next.

Helpful bartender and yummy food. The bathroom is also really nicely decorated. I enjoy the fact we got to build exactly the food we want. We had the shredded beef and chicken tinga on quesadillas and nachos respectively and enjoyed both.

Great food excellent service,they have beer now. Also lot of different sauces to try. Loved the habenero sauce, really flaming hot

The food is great! The prices are high on some items. The guacamole is $1.75 for 2 ounces! Its great for tacos and basic Mexican fare.

Generally, I love Chubby’s. They serve good food and they do it quickly. Though there’s a bar, I don’t smell alcohol and I appreciate that. The place is extremely kid-friendly, making it a good place for a fast dinner with a family. My main complaint would be that there isn’t enough vegetarian/vegan options, and some of the service can be prickly, but though that doesn’t bother me that much, it can bug others a lot.

Chubby's is always good for quick Mexican. If you're looking something more upscale then go to Dos Perros. I like the bar upgrade from their old location in the same strip mall.

Prices are great, food is always awesome. An excellent Durham classic! We love the fresh tortilla chips and salsa bar, as well as all the classic menu options. Chorizo taco bowl was a great decision last time, and our three-year-old loves the black beans. One of our favorites!

Food was very tasty. Portions were generous, served quick and hot. Salsa bar has some tasty offerings. Good draft list (for on-site consumption). Fast-casual, so order at the counter or take a seat at the bar. Non-beer available as well, including adult cocktails

So this is my first time visiting Chubby Tacos and I must say, I went in with high expectation....those expectations declined once I took a bite of my food. I tasted more of a salty taste than flavor and my food was just warm. I ordered fajita steak and got some type of ground mash up of steak and ground beef. It’s a no for me.

Great food and service here. I enjoy all the different salsas with a range of heat levels for everyone. I have enjoyed all of the meats in both burritos and quesadillas. My favorite is the chorizo followed by the spicy carne asada.

Quick service...good tacos...had the tacos al pastor. Would have liked a little crunch and pork could have been more tender. Great selection of salsas.

Location is better than the old one, food seemed better before. Still good and worth the trip if you're in the area. Service is quick enough. Prices are average for a fast Mexican food.

Friendly staff, food was good but the taco bowl was a little bit greasy if you are trying to eat it. Good selection of menu though.

Chubby's Tacos were amazing. We are planning to go back and try the rest of the menu.

All I can say is Chubbychanga with chili is amazing. I know I never would've expected those words to come our of my face...and yet here we are. Oh and even though I've been here 3 or 4 times I just found out about the salsa bar. 😂 Anyway do the thing y'all!

I love this place! The food is good as well as inexpensive. Nice eating areas inside as well as a extensive salsa bar for your chips! The nice thing to is that you can either order at the counter or sit at the bar and be served there with drinks. Parking is easy as well.

WARNING - DOORDASH PRICES ARE HIGHERDoorDash customer service told me that the prices are set by the merchant, which means that Chubby's decided to increase their doordash prices. Might be better off ordering directly from them.

Comfortable atmosphere. Good service and the prices were reasonable. Food was pretty good but not great.

Chubby’s has a good variety of tacos. They are consistently good. They have a salsa bar which has a variety of house made salsas. The space has plenty of tables and a bar.

We love Chubbys! They always have delicious food and excellent service. We recently used them to cater a work event for 25 people and they provided everything we needed down to the serving utensils and cutlery. The manager on site was there every step of the way to ensure our order was correct! Can’t wait to order more tacos.

The burritos are amazing. Don't forget to load up on the sauces! Could give more chips for to go orders

Chubby"s has become our go to Mexican restaurant. The loaded nachos are yummy and cheap. The people who work there are friendly.

Authentic, fresh, delicious, inexpensive, and they have a liquor license. Homemade food at fast food prices. Two of us ate a nice lunch and left a 20% tip for under $25.

My food was cold, spicy steak tacos. My wifes tacos barbacoa and al pastor were also cold. She asked they heat them up. They put them in a microwave.

We called to place a pickup order and were immediately put on hold. We had been on hold for so long we decided to drive to the restaurant to place our togo order in person (while still staying on hold). When my husband arrived to the cashier, we showed his phone being still on hold 15 minutes later. The two girls look at their phone, at each other and just shrugged - not even an apology was given. The food is good but I am giving a three star review because of their average customer service.

Wonderful place for a quick bit and a tall drink at reasonable prices.

This was our first visit to this location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food tasted great. We only gave 4 stars because all the sides were warm, not hot though. Ordered the 3 Taco and Seafood Samplers. Happy with both. The lemonade is a must! We will be going back.

My weekly haunt. I love their chicken tinga taco salad and salsa bar. They are close to work, the food is good , the service is fast and prices reasonable

This place never disappoints. Whether it's this location or the one on Lake Boone Trail, service and food are always on point. I recommend the tinga tacos and the chubbychanga.
